Second Grade Life Cycle Research

Second graders spent much of the month of May researching the life cycle of a butterfly.  They used many resources and various media to answer their questions about the life of our favorite spring insect.  They even observed the life cycle firsthand in their classrooms, but released them before their two week adult lifespan came to a close. Students in Mrs. Noboa’s class created Google slide shows to document their learning.  Once the projects were finished, they shared their creations with their peers, other teachers, administrators and parents.  Students articulately asked and answered questions about the presentations ranging from the butterflies existence to how to insert a background in a Google Doc.
