The National PTA has recognized Fred C. Underhill, Hooksett Memorial, and David R. Cawley along with the Hooksett PTA as 2019-2021 Schools of Excellence for their accomplishments in building a strong, effective family-school partnership that is enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.

“When families and schools work together, students do better in school and schools improve,” said Leslie Boggs, president of National PTA. “Fred C. Underhill, Hooksett Memorial, and David R. Cawley and Hooksett PTA have worked hard to strengthen their family-school partnership and their efforts are making a positive impact on student success and school improvement. We are pleased to recognize them as a 2019-2021 School of Excellence.”

National PTA’s School of Excellence program supports and celebrates schools and PTAs that make a year-long commitment to improving family-school partnerships. Throughout the year, the schools and PTAs collect feedback from their school communities and create and implement plans of action to make a difference for every child. Through the School of Excellence program, PTAs and families become key partners in decision-making and school improvement efforts.

Fred C. Underhill, Hooksett Memorial, and David R. Cawley (Along with the Hooksett PTA) are three of only 326 PTAs and schools nationwide and the only three in New Hampshire to be designated a 2019- 2021 School of Excellence.

I feel truly blessed to live in a community where everyone wants to take a piece of ownership in raising tomorrow’s leaders! Our community knows the importance of rallying around its greatest asset: their children and their education. – Jillian Godbout Hooksett PTA President

Last year we celebrated our children and their bright futures by making sure they felt supported and had a community by their side. We educated our families and community partners on school safety, internet safety and mental wellbeing. Our SAU (15), administrators, staff and larger community members helped make this happen in a big way! We would Like to Thank: Barrett Insurance, Det. Matt Flemming, BU Institute of Bullying, SAU 15, Facebook, Mathnasium, and the National PTA.

To celebrate their achievements, National PTA presented Fred C. Underhill, Hooksett Memorial, and David R. Cawley and Hooksett PTA each with a certificate and a National PTA School of Excellence banner to hang in the school.
