Back to School Information from Fred C. Underhill Principal Benjamin Loi

Dear Fred C. Underhill School families,
We are very excited to start the school year with your children! We have many school happenings that will occur over the next several days before the start of school. I have listed several important pieces of information to help get you prepared for the start of the school year.
I have also attached the link to the school’s Reopening Protocols document. This document contains information regarding COVID-19 protocols, lunch/snack, parent pick-up/drop-off, and more.

  • The first day of school for students is Thursday, September 3, 2020.
  • Students will receive their teacher assignments by email no later than Friday, August 28, 2020. If you did not, please contact the school at (603) 623-7233.
  • Meet Your Teacher is on Monday, August 31, 2020. Meet Your Teacher will be virtual this year. The teachers and staff will be sharing welcome videos to introduce themselves, the classrooms, and some of the fun things the students will learn about. On Sunday, we will email you a link to a special website for Meet Your Teacher. The website will go live at 8:00am on Monday, August 31. The recordings will be available until Thursday, September 3.
  • There will be a Parent Orientation through Zoom on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 8:30am. I will be providing information regarding new routines, protocols, and other school topics. A link will be emailed to parents on the evening of Monday, August 31, 2020.
  • There will also be a Zoom Remote Learning Parent Orientation next Monday, August 31, 2020 at 10:00am. A link will be emailed to remote learning parents on the evening of Sunday, August 30, 2020. Families who selected the Remote Learning option at Underhill can pick up their child’s device and supplies on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 between 4:00 and 6:00pm in the Underhill Gymnasium. Please park in the visitor parking lot and use the gym door to enter. There will be a separate email for Remote Learning students tomorrow including an overview of the program and the schedules for each grade.
  • Please look in your email in the upcoming days for an email from PickUp Patrol.  (Check your spam folder too.) The school district will alert you to look for this email.  Contact the school’s main office if you have not received an email from PickUp Patrol by Tuesday, September 1, 2020.  PickUp Patrol is a tool parents will be required to use daily to submit the COVID-19 screening information for their children in all grades K-8  before getting on the school bus or arriving at school.  Underhill School and Hooksett Memorial School will also use PickUp Patrol to manage dismissal plans for students.
